Will be held at Eisenhower Park, Nassau County Aquatic Center on
- October 21 7:30pm
- October 22 7:15pm
Check in will be upstairs and then the swimmer may enter the pool deck through the locker rooms. Spectators are allowed in the stands, but no parents on deck.
Registration is required to tryout and will be refunded if you do not make the team.
During tryouts each swimmer will swim 1 25 yard lap (Age 12 and under) or 50 yards (Age 13 and up) of each of the competitive swim strokes and will be timed and evaluated by our coaches. Depending on the number of registrations for each age group, we may not be able to take every swimmer on the team. We do take developmental swimmers on to our exhibition group whenever possible with some in the past making the team the same season.
Registration ends on October 29. We cannot guarantee acceptance of any registrations after this date and there will be a $50 late fee added.
We practice most Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays starting November 3rd at Chaminade High School in Mineola or (new for this season) Pierce Country Day Camp in Roslyn.
We have 8 meets per season starting in January and ending the end of March with the season concluding with the Championships sometime the 1st week of April
The Registration fee for this season will be $175.
Due to the long layoff, many members of our team have not been swimming in well over a year, we will be starting 1 month earlier and offering up to 3 practices a week for 5 months. We have other new additions planned including special swim clinics with a Professional Swim Coach monthly throughout the season.
We will also be including a new team T-Shirt with registration that we will wear to all meets and any special events.
For practice, the swimmers will wear:
- a basic practice suit
- swim cap (optional for boys with short hair)
- Fins and Kickboards (new for this year)
If you already have these items, you can bring your own. If you do not, we have been able to put together a starter pack for $40 that includes a Team Mesh Bag, Fins and Kickboard.
For meets, we have a team swim suit that is required by CYO rules. Previous team members can use the same suit. We will have a team fitting date in early November with pricing details to follow.
Everyone will be receiving a St Aidan Team Shirt to be worn to all meets and any special events we may have.
Of course we will have our end of the year party shortly after champs has concluded. We will have new awards to offer this season in addition to the meet ribbons and championship medals.
After you register, you will receive additional information to help you prepare.
The coaches have been planning for a few months and are ready to meet you in October and excited to get back in the pool.
